(HAA)Located in South West of Paro and covering an area of roughly 1706 sq. km. 
Haa  is the smallest Dzongkhag in the country. This tiny region is one of the most 
beautiful and isolated areas in the kingdom, adorned with pristine alpine forests and 
tranquil mountain peaks.
 
Haa is the ancestral home of the Queen Grandmother and the illustrious Dorji family. 
This valley remains one of the least visited areas in the country and retains the air of 
an unspoiled, primeval forest. The wooded hills of Haa provides an ideal location for 
hiking and mountain biking. Biking around the valley to visit  the dozen or so local 
temples is an enjoyable way to spend the day when visiting.
Haa is home to a number of nomadic herders and hosts an annual Summer Festival 
that showcases  their unique lifestyle and culture. The festival is an ideal occasion to 
immerse yourself into the traditions and unchanged lifestyles of nomadic Bhutanese 
herders, as well as to sample some delectable Haapi cuisine.
 
SUMMERY OF FESTIVAL
In order to give  a tourist a peek into the Bhutanese culture and experience the 
Bhutanese way of life, the Alpine Summer Festival is organized in Haa for two days. In 
additional to the mask dances and traditional Bhutanese folk songs and dances, alpine 
flowers are at display and one can get a good sneak peek into the highlander 
community and their way of life. Traditional sports like archery and darts are played 
and tourists can also experienced the unique cuisine of Haa, which is different from 
food from other parts of the country.

typical Bhutanese lifesty le and hospitality. 
DAY 01: ARRIVAL PARO/ THIMPHU
Flight to Bhutan in the Kingdom’s only airline, The Druk Air. In -flight offers 
breathtaking scenery of Himalayan Mountain ranges including the world’s highest 
peak Mt. Everest and Kanchenjunga.  Traditional reception will be given by your local 
tour executive on arrival at Paro International airport. Following the pick up, you will 
be driven for sightseeing at Paro Ringpung Dzong and Paro Museum. Upon 
completion, lunch will be served in one of the   finest local restaurant in Paro followed 
by visit to Kichu Monastery and Drugyal Dzong. Evening take a 45 minutes drive to 
Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.
 
DAY 02: THIMPHU –  HAA
Today at your early breakfast in the hotel drive to Haa which is around 2 hrs drive from 
the capital. Reaching Haa experience the Haa Summer Festivl and participate in the 
activity. Haa district marks one of the highest district headquarters in Bhutan. There 
are many other natural and historical places, retreat centers and monasteries in Haa.
 
DAY 03: HAA – PARO & HIKE TO THE FAMOUS TIGER’S NEST
At your early breakfast in the hotel check out to drive to your ownward d estination 
(Paro) and hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest.  The highlight of this excursion will be 
graded as unforgettable memory as  the incredible “Tiger Nest Hike” unveils the era of 
rescue by Guru from the darkness period. Taktshang, literally means the Tigers Lair, is 
adventurously perched on the rocky cliff elevating 1000 meters from the basement. 
The history dates back to eight century when the Guru Rinpochhe flew on the back of 
tigress from Tibet en route Singye Dzong in the north east Bhutan in the eighth 
century. His mission to subdue evil spirits dwelling in the Himalayan region of Bhutan 
was brought to fruition after meditating for three months in the existing cave. Up on 
his blessing, the current stature of the monastery was initiated in 1694 and 
unfortunately the old structure was engulfed by fire in 1998 and it was revamped in 
2004, which you will behold on your visit. The f ascinating hike could vary in duration 
depending on the physique of an individual. However, on an average it is only three 
hours hike. Further, option lies at your decision, whether to make up till the nest or 
enjoy the breathtaking up view of the nest fro m the cafeteria viewpoint.
